It is with great pleasure that the Hope, Unity, and Freedom Center (HUF Center) recognize Shanta Thomas as HUF Center Employee of the Year. Shanta consistently demonstrates the mission of HUF by focusing on enhancing the mental, emotional, and physical functioning of members through the use of individualized and/or group methods designed to improve individual functioning as well as provided opportunities to achieve goals.
Shanta has been a full-time employee at HUF since April 2015, and is known for her high standard of performance. She cares for HUF members with respect and dignity and is a great asset to this center and the community we serve. Shanta has a passion for the members assigned to her as well as all the members assigned to Colonial Heights.
Shanta is highly respected by her peers and appreciated by her members because of the way she treats and advocates for others. Shanta adapts her plan of care to include and meet the functioning level s and cultural needs of her members. Shanta is efficient and thorough in her work and is regularly compliant with documentation within the identified time lines. Shanta is highly respected by those with whom she comes in contact, such as referral sources, case managers, and member families. In addition, she is an exemplary role model to other staff in the Colonial Heights Center.
