I’m the Clinical Coordinator at Colonial Heights.


Karen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Master of Social Work program. Karen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and holds a certifications in Juvenile Competency Restoration, as well as a Juvenile Forensic Evaluator in the State of Virginia.

Karen has over 18 years of experience in Behavioral Health serving as a Clinical Director of an Intensive In-Home Provider, Regional Director of Intensive In-Home Provider, and Co-Founder of Life Journey’s Consultation Service.

Karen serves as the Clinical Coordinator for the Hope Unity and Freedom Center located in Colonial Heights, Virginia. She is responsible for managing the clinical program of the HUF Center’s Psychosocial Day Support program for adults with primary mental health diagnosis, dual diagnosis, and/or co-existing disorder.

Karen enjoys being a part of others’ growth and development as they strive for their full potential. She provides ongoing clinical supervision to her staff to assist staff and clients/members in reaching their goals according to their individual strengths and needs. Karen utilizes her years of leadership development and training in the Colonial Heights Site in providing trainings, staff development/team building exercises, and providing staff supervision.

Karen passion for assisting others’ growth and development as they strive for their full potential has continued to be a part of her role as Clinical Coordinator. She is dedicated to providing a level of services that encourages and nurtures the potential in each member and staff at The Hope, Unity, and Freedom Center.
